There was one years ago but I haven't seen any recently.
The ones years ago were based on a Nissan (Datsun) 280ZX and the kit
was brilliant and very authentic looking when built, painted and
trimmed properly.
You sometimes see the odd one at shows. >> Stay informed about: Ferrari 250 GTO replica/kit? |

They were excellent kits - but most of the manfuacturers were scared off
when Ferrari first got litigious.

Thank ady, but that's a 250 LM, not the GTO. Very nice car though.

Was there a Fiero GTO kit? Or was that a LM too? Saw one at
Donnington a few years back with a Lancia V6 in the back. Don't think
it was a 308 which also exists.

I think that Fiero Factory might do a kit, it won't be advertised but you
could ask them!!

Thanks for the link Phil!
That's a seriously nice looking car. At the end of the article there's
couple of links to companies in the USA that still appear to be making
the bodyshells.
Unfortunately... I'm in the UK, and the Datsun 240Z doesn't ring any
bells (though it might have been sold in the UK under a different name).
It does seem a bit of a shame that Ferrari are so negative about kits -
especially ones for an 'old' car of which there were very few in the
first place. It's hardly like you'd be able to pass a replica off as an
original in a sale now is it...
Cheers

The 250 GTO kit that was around a few years back was based on the Datsun
Z240/260.
These cars themselves are very rare now, so is probably a contributory
factor to the kits demise.
I think the kit was originally bought over from the States, and as there
were always a lot more donors there it made sense.
A pity as it was a good looking car (after the kit of course).

Datsun = Nissan
240Z, 260Z, 280Z likely = Fairlady
Many donors in US, can be had for $1,500 or so.
Best,
